Right after Water Vapor therapy

• You will be awoken by the anesthesiologist after moderate sedation.
• A urethral catheter will be retained for 1-2 weeks depending on prostate size.
• After 1-2 hours of observation in the recovery room, the doctor will decide if you can be discharged or need hospitalization.

• Take all medications as prescribed.
• Use pain killers as needed per prescription.

During catheterization

• Carry the urine bag at all times and empty it when full.
• Two bag options: 2L overnight bag or 500mL leg bag for active daily life. The nurse will show you how to switch between them.

On the day of catheter removal

• You will be scheduled to have the catheter removed at the clinic.
• After removal, 6 hours of voiding observation is required.
• If you void at least once successfully, you may go home.
• If you cannot void after 6 hours, the doctor will re-evaluate and decide next steps.
