wp-block-paragraph\">Roughly 30% of men worldwide have been circumcised. If you have decided to have it done, the next question is which technique \u2014 and they are not interchangeable. This article sets out the four in standard use, with the honest advantages and drawbacks of each. (The <a class=\"rank-math-link\" href=\"https:\/\/drsoaraweeurology.com\/2020\/09\/04\/circumcision-reducing-hivs\/\">medical benefits of circumcision<\/a> are covered separately.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Patients weigh up two things after surgery, and it is worth naming both. The first is <strong>medical<\/strong>: bleeding, haematoma, and \u2014 very rarely \u2014 serious injury. The second is <strong>cosmetic<\/strong>, and there is nothing frivolous about it: how the result looks matters to how a man feels about his own body afterwards. A technique that scores well on one of these does not automatically score well on the other, which is the whole reason this choice exists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1.
